Welcome to the Governors Wales website – through which we hope to provide you with the help, support and guidance to be an effective governor of a school in Wales.

We hope to:

• provide you with an up to date information system for advice, guidance and support on all school governance issues
• offer you an opportunity to communicate with other governors across Wales via the FAQs section
• enable you to explore common concerns, disseminate information and share good practice
• provide easy access to information, guidance and reference material
• signpost links to other educational websites
• promote events, conferences and seminars nationally, regionally and locally
• gain feedback on issues affecting the governance of our schools

Governors Wales is an independent organisation serving the needs of the 22,000 (approximately) school governors in Wales.

We seek to support effective governance of schools in Wales and support the personal and professional development of individual governors.

We are proud to represent the views of governors on a range of matters affecting schools and in turn help them to govern their schools effectively.
