A parent was elected as a parent governor two years ago, so is currently half way through their term of office. She is very dedicated, attends all meetings of the governing body, committees that she is a member of, and a very active link governor for numeracy. Her husband has recently been appointed to a new job and as a result they will be relocating. The governor enjoys their role on the governing body and does not want to resign if their children attend another school.
The current regulations allow parent governors to serve out their term of office even when their children leave their school, which is different to teacher and staff governors whose term of office ceases once they are no longer working at the school.
