10. Should the membership of the complaints committee be reviewed?

Like all committees, the membership should be reviewed annually. It should not be left until a case arises. As some members of the complaints committee may not be able to take part i.e. due to absence or conflict of interest, when deciding the membership, the governing body should also consider a list of reserve governors which the chair could contact in priority order. These decisions and the delegation of authority to the chair must be minuted.
