A parental complaint was dealt with under stage B of the school’s complaints procedure. The parents were not happy with the outcome and requested to meet with the complaints committee, as per the school’s procedure. The chair has contacted them and advised that the meeting will not be taking place, and that the complaint is closed.
If the chair took the decision to stop the complaint with no apparent reason, then the parent must raise this, as this will be going against what is set down in the procedure. There may be a role for the Local Authority here in relation to investigating a potential flawed process.
