What is the quorum for governing body meetings?

The quorum for a meeting of the governing body is one half (rounded up to a whole number) of the governing body membership, excluding any vacancies.

Do statutory sub committees have to have a quorum?

Yes.

  • The quorum for the Staff Disciplinary and Dismissal Committee and the Staff Disciplinary and Dismissal Appeals Committee is the same as the minimum requirements for the composition of those committees as specified in the regulations.
  • The quorum for the Pupil Discipline and Exclusions Committee is three (the membership of the committee can consist of either 3 or 5 governors).
  • The quorum for the Admissions Committee is the same as the minimum requirement for the composition of the committee specified in the regulations.
