North Wales Regional Conference 2008

Governors Wales is holding a regional conference in North Wales on Thursday 23rd October 2008. The venue for the conference is Venue Cymru in Llandudno.

The theme of the conference in In Search of Excellence.

The conference aims to give school governors time to reflect on their role in leading school improvement and the latest information and thinking from the Assembly Government on a variety of subjects. There will also be opportunities to network with other governors from across North Wales to share knowledge and experience of managing the education of young people from ages 3 to 19.

Governors Wales is fortunate to have secured respected guest speakers and facilitators who are prepared to give governors the benefit of their experience.

The conference will commence at 9.45a.m. concluding at 3.45p.m. In addition to presentations there will be a series of workshops of which governors may choose which one they would like to attend. Workshop sessions on the day include:

• The School Effectiveness Framework
• Estyn Inspection: the role of governors
• Pupil Participation
• The making of an excellent Governing Body
