Professional Development Opportunity: FREE for Welsh Schools

As part of our Premier League Reading Stars Cymru project , we are offering free places for practitioners from Welsh schools to join our training programme, Improving Boys’ Literacy: Strategies for Success.

Part of our Outstanding Literacy Leadership series, this two-day programme helps teachers and literacy leaders find specific, effective solutions to closing the gender gap in literacy.

This training is designed for those working with pupils aged 9 to 13. Practitioners from both primary and secondary schools are welcome.

Interested in taking part?

Places on these courses are free of charge but limited so booking is essential.

Delegates should bring an electronic device for internet access.

Each day will be 9.30am-3.30pm and a light lunch will be provided.

This training:

  • takes place over an extended period to embed approaches and to test evidence
  • involves two teachers from each school so ideas are shared and practice is jointly improved
  • builds a learning community providing structure and content for a whole school action research approach
  • focuses on reading (day 1) and writing (day 2)

Who should attend?
